Early adoption
So...my penchant for trying out new techie toys got me into trouble...hopefully one stab at it will fix the other.
I signed up for electronic billing with Bell a couple of months ago, which turned into a complete fiasco. It's been three months, and even though my payment leaves my bank account before the due date, never once has the payment actually registered in their systems before the next bill comes out. Nevermind that the eight other companies I do my online banking with seem to have no problems in this department.
So at the moment, I don't know how much I owe them besides the fact that it's probably not as much as they're telling me it is. This is driving me slightly nuts. In effect, this <sarcasm>innovative way to simplify my life</sarcasm> has turned into nothing but an unmitigated pain in the ass.
I called them this morning and tried to get some answers...the service rep was (let's say) not so sympathetic. I got the runaround, and then I called my bank to get them to chase Bell down. I'm a big fan of delegation.
My next stop was to call my cable company. See, they recently introduced a phone service too. You guys should see where this is going.
Hopefully early adoption won't be my bane this time. I should be hooked-up by the end of the month, AND still be able to keep the same number. Cost-wise, it's about the same. Until you consider that unlimited calling in North America for 12 months is in the deal too.
(And they threw in call waiting too. Which is pretty useless given the volume of people who call me (yes...I'm looking at you, and you, and you...), but it's not as if I needed any of the other features they threw my way.)
And then it's like, Why didn't I do this sooner?
Die, Bell, die.

Apparently Bell also doesn't realize I'm a Pisces. From my daily horoscope (should I admit I look at these things? However patently untrue they usually are?):
Your emotions are charged with fury today, dear Pisces, and you might feel explosive...
Word. Dat.

Heh, I should tell you about the fun I'm having with CIBC Visa.
It took me four reps plus me finally exploding at the fourth unlucky (and stupid one to tell me that no, she couldn't help me) to get an effing manager.
My first question is - how the hell did you manage to charge double the limit on my Visa card?
I hate customer reps. I have also learned that you have to yell to get somewhere.
