Nothing left but memories....and jet lag
So I was going to post pictures tonight but it's taking too long to do so instead I'm just going to babble about the end of the trip...
Somehow we managed to make it out of the FA Cup chaos in one piece - our train out was magically timed for about halfway through the game, and we were in Caerphilly (home of a big castle....and cheese) the rest of the day.
Got to spend another day in London scurrying about for souvenirs and those all-important jars of European Nutella. Also there were these shoes that ... somehow ... I didn't buy.
And Laurie managed to find the much fabled all-Canadian bar (the only identifiably Canadian menu item was maybe the poutine...and I'm not going to comment on their beer) and store tucked away in a side street not far from Trafalgar Square (did I ever complain about Banff being a tourist-eating black hole? I take it back.). Also not far from this store that sells shoes that...
Nevermind.
Flight back was uneventful...though paired with the four trains and three buses I also sat in it was all rather a bit much.
So that was way cool. Kind of fast, and I'm delighted to be back in my own bed and in possession of my own bathroom.... but... I have to get pictures up Sooooon....
